In the absence of explicit payoff variations the system exhibits a phase transition from a mixed state of cooperators and defectors to a homogenous state of defectors belonging to the directed percolation universality class. By introducing nonzero random variations to the payoffs, this phase transition can be reverted in a resonance-like manner depending on the variance of noise, thus marking coherence resonance in the system. We argue that explicit random payoff variations present a viable mechanism that promotes cooperation for defection temptation values substantially exceeding the one marking the transition point to homogeneity by deterministic payoffs.</dc:description><dc:date>2006</dc:date><dc:date>2012-06-07 12:38:09</dc:date><dc:type>Članek v reviji</dc:type><dc:identifier>35943</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>ISSN: 1367-2630</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>UDK: 534.83:531.3</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>OceCobissID: 21135621</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>COBISS_ID: 14504456</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>DOI: 10.1088/1367-2630/8/2/022</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>ISSN pri članku: 1367-2630</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>NUK URN: URN:SI:UM:DK:NIQJWOVM</dc:identifier><dc:language>sl</dc:language></metadata>
