The main aim in this area is the development of materials, which are biocompatible to normal tissue. Tissue-implant interactions with molecular, biological and cellular characteristics at the implant-tissue interface are important for the use and development of implants. Implantation may cause an inflammatory and immune response in tissue, foreign body reaction, systemic toxicity and imminent infection. Tissue-implant interactions determine the implant life-period. The aims of the study are to consider the biological response to implants. Biomaterials and host reactions to implants and their mechanisms are also briefly discussed.</dc:description><dc:date>2016</dc:date><dc:date>2017-08-03 10:31:12</dc:date><dc:type>Znanstveno delo</dc:type><dc:identifier>67135</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>ISSN: 1840-4812</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>UDK: 616-77</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>OceCobissID: 5097535</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>COBISS_ID: 5628991</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>DOI: 10.17305/bjbms.2016.525</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>ISSN pri članku: 1840-4812</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>NUK URN: URN:SI:UM:DK:QQLXIRLG</dc:identifier><dc:language>sl</dc:language></metadata>
