The theoretical framework is grounded in contemporary sports event management literature, with emphasis on strategic planning, stakeholder management, marketing communication, sponsorship structures and event evaluation.
The empirical analysis covers four editions of SIMPOSAR (2022–2025), a period marked by notable organisational expansion, programme diversification and increased international visibility.
During these years, the event experienced significant growth in participation, reached peak attendance in 2024, and incorporated new elements such as documentary film premieres, educational workshops, international panellists and diplomatic cooperation.
These developments positioned SIMPOSAR as a recognised regional platform that integrates sport, media, culture and public diplomacy.
The findings demonstrate that successful event delivery depends on the ability to connect theoretical principles with practical constraints related to funding, logistics, time pressure and human resources.
Despite operating in a transitional and resource-limited environment, the organisers strengthened event branding, expanded stakeholder networks, attracted high-profile partners and enhanced media reach.
The results confirm that strategic partnerships, ongoing organisational learning and communication innovation are key determinants of long-term event sustainability.
This study contributes to a better understanding of sports event management in emerging markets and resource-constrained contexts. It also offers practical recommendations for organisers seeking to improve planning efficiency, financial stability, international cooperation and formal evaluation mechanisms.</dc:description><dc:date>2026</dc:date><dc:date>2026-02-09 14:10:00</dc:date><dc:type>Diplomsko delo/naloga</dc:type><dc:identifier>96977</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>COBISS_ID: 280012803</dc:identifier><dc:language>sl</dc:language></metadata>
