20.500.12556/DKUM-12317 UPORABA METAFOR PRI RAZVOJU INFORMACIJSKIH REŠITEV THE USE OF METAPHORS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS Metafore nam pomagajo pri razumevanju novih in abstraktnih pojmov, zaradi česar se pojavljajo v veliki večini računalniških sistemov. Vse od njihove prve uporabe v grafičnih uporabniških vmesnikih in nekaterih neprimernih implementacijah so bile metafore predmet pozitivnih in negativnih kritik glede njihove uporabnosti v človekovi interakciji z računalnikom. Metaphors help to understand new and abstract concepts and have been for that reason implemented in nearly all computer systems. All since their first appearance in graphic user interfaces and because of some inappropriate implementations, the metaphors have been a topic of diverse opinions about the benefits they supposedly produce in human- computer interaction. Metaphors have their role in the program engineering as well, as they are a helpful tool in extreme programming and object-oriented programming. In the thesis the introduction of the metaphors in general is made, followed by a description of the use of metaphors in user interfaces, on the web and in program engineering. Since the choice of a good metaphor is crucial for the success of it, we provided some useful directions and a repository of well established metaphors as a help for implementation. We conclude with a research of metaphors as a tool for recognizing the system functionality. metafore uporabniški vmesniki splet programsko inženirstvo metaphors user interfaces web software engineering true true false [S.
