The aim of this thesis was to introduce to a wider audience sports that contain an extreme aerobic effort, extreme mountain climbing, ultra marathon running and especially a relatively unknown cycling category, ultra marathon cycling, as well as the difference between extreme, extreme aerobic and ultra marathon sports. The thesis also presents the history of ultra marathon cycling, the types of competition and the characteristics of this extreme aerobic effort, of competitions and of a competitor, including the factors that contribute to success in this sport. In this thesis I used the descriptive method. I studied domestic and especially foreign literature and examined foreign websites, as well as used my own experience from the world of marathon running and ultra marathon cycling. With the help of statements and directed non-standardized interviews with individuals who are in various ways connected to ultra marathon cycling I gathered opinions and perspectives regarding this sports category. aerobno ekstremni šport ekstremni aerobni napor ultramaratonsko kolesarstvo ultramaratonski tek ekstremni alpinizem mnenja. aerobic extreme sports extreme aerobic effort ultra marathon cycling ultra marathon running extreme mountain climbing opinions. true true false [D.
