20.500.12556/DKUM-70037 Negative impacts of forest fires on ecological balance and environmental sustainability case of Turkey Forests are a vital element in the Earth’s ecological balance, economy, biodiversity, water resources and air purity. On the other hand, forests are confronted with various threats – one of them being fires. Its distinctive geographical features provide Turkey with rich plant diversity along with an imbalance in the dispersion of forested land. 27% of Turkey’s surface area is covered by forests, most of which are concentrated on the coastal lands and their hinterlands. 2.135 forest fires were recorded in Turkey in 2008, resulting in a loss of 29.749 ha of forest. Although this figure translates into a decrease of 25% in the number of fires, the amount of destroyed forestland increased by 155% with respect to the previous year. This paper questions the incendiary causes and negative effects of fires in the case of Turkey. ecological balance environmental sustainability forest fires Turkey Turčija varstvo okolja trajnostni razvoj ekološko ravnotežje gozdni požari požarna varnost true true true Angleški jezik Slovenski jezik Oddelek za geografijo, Filozofska fakulteta Univerze v Mariboru Znanstveno delo 2018-03-29 08:46:52 2018-03-29 08:47:40 2022-08-01 18:42:59 2019-10-22 03:11:48 2010 0 0 str. 15-32 št. 1 Letn. 5 2010 0000-00-00 Zaloznikova Objavljeno NiDoloceno 0000-00-00 0000-00-00 0000-00-00 1854-665X 502.131.1(560):574 229718016 254181632 1854-665X URN:SI:UM:DK:EOVV1ISE Revija_za_geografijo_2010_Bakirci_Negative_impacts_of_forest_fires_on_ecological_balance_and_environmental_sustainability_case_of_Turke.pdf Revija_za_geografijo_2010_Bakirci_Negative_impacts_of_forest_fires_on_ecological_balance_and_environmental_sustainability_case_of_Turke.pdf 1 8A26D5117E87AB6D7200DF366C0DC6A5 d605dca551d07c6d7492f8feac96555ee266c316f4caa24459e82319b5206f8c d8286edb-7c0f-11eb-bb7a-00155d0001ca 20.500.12556/dkum/7d57824a-689a-4aa7-9a8a-96673b744f27 https://dk.um.si/Dokument.php?lang=slv&id=123482 http://www.ff.um.si/zalozba-in-knjigarna/ponudba/zbirke-in-revije/revija-za-geografijo/clanki/stevilka-5-1-2010/051-02_bakirci.pdf 1 https://dk.um.si/Dokument.php?lang=slv&id=123481 Filozofska fakulteta Revija za geografijo 0 0 0
