This thesis focuses on a security analysis of a program, and the methods of its exploitation. We demonstrate the execution of some of the most common security vulnerabilities, and the logic that enables them. We also explain the structure of our custom made vulnerable application and defend the reasoning behind it. The thesis mainly focuses on the identification process of security errors and the production of their security patches, but we also discuss the good and the bad sides of this approach to security updates.
