The main objective of this thesis is to compare the syntax of SQL statements when using MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL systems. We compared datatypes and syntax of frequently used queries from the DDL, DML, DCL and TCL categories. We have shown the differences in tables from which we can see which DBMS supports which commands. In case of syntax differences where certain function is not available for selected DMBS we searched for alternative that simulates the behaviour of the command. We determined the influence of syntax differences on the obtained result. SQL MySQL MS SQL Server Oracle PostgreSQL SQL MySQL MS SQL Server Oracle PostgreSQL true true false [Z.
