20.500.12556/DKUM-82892 Celovita primerjava operacijskih sistemov iz družine BSD diplomsko delo A comprehensive comparison of operating systems from the BSD family V diplomskem delu smo primerjali, analizirali in predstavili razlike med tremi najvidnejšimi predstavniki operacijskih sistemov iz družine BSD, in sicer NetBSD, OpenBSD in FreeBSD. Najprej smo predstavili vsakega izmed njih, razlike, zgodovino, zasnovo jedra ter področje varnosti. S pomočjo primerjalne študije smo predstavili njihove lastnosti, značilnosti, zmogljivosti in razlike med njimi. Vse tri smo s pomočjo zmogljivostnih testov preizkusili in primerjali rezultate. Ugotovili smo, kateri operacijski sistem ponuja največjo zbirko paketov, kateri je najbolj varen in kateri je najbolj uporaben za povprečnega uporabnika. In the thesis, we compared, analyzed and presented the differences between the three most prominent representatives of operating systems from the BSD family, namely NetBSD, OpenBSD and FreeBSD. First, we presented each of them, the differences, the history, the design of the kernel and the area of security. With the help of a comparative study, we presented their properties, characteristics, capabilities and differences between them. We tested all three with the help of performance tests and compared the results. We found out which operating system offers the largest collection of packages, which is the most secure, and which is the most useful for the average user.
