The objective of this research was to investigate the nature of the social support women receive in such online communities. For this purpose, all the posts from a large online support community group for women in Slovenia, Women in Need, from 2002 to the end of 2020 were retrieved and analyzed manually as well as by using a text-mining approach. The results show that women in the investigated community mostly seek informational support, spend little time actively contributing to online discussions, and rarely become engaged members of supportive groups within the focal online space. Some recommendations on how to improve the functionality of online social support sites are provided. online support social support violence against women spletna podpora socialna podpora nasilje nad ženskami true true true MDPI Angleški jezik Slovenski jezik Znanstveno delo 2023-12-06 09:06:59 2023-12-06 09:16:56 2024-07-17 04:03:33 0000-00-00 00:00:00 2023 0 0 Str. 1-12 Št. 9, št. članka 726 Letn. 13 2023 0000-00-00 Zaloznikova Objavljeno apc 2023-06-28 2023-08-28 2023-08-30 [159.9+316.472.4]:343.62-055.2 2076-328X 162840323 10.3390/bs13090726 2076-328X Erculj-2023-Women_in_Need-The_Nature_of_Social.pdf Erculj-2023-Women_in_Need-The_Nature_of_Social.pdf 1 B29B99D30460ED3B70E7DCF1CE51356A 1c78c6c7d065663d17b2b29b48954926a6a7d151719dd95ecaec05706fda48f4 2dbe9711-4366-11ef-8857-00155d000105 https://dk.um.si/Dokument.php?lang=slv&id=181528 https://doi.org/10.3390/bs13090726 0 d313cf04-940e-11ee-8142-00155d000105 https://dk.um.si/Dokument.php?lang=slv&id=174663 Fakulteta za varnostne vede 0 0 0
