The aim of this thesis is to present and give a closer look at the work of volunteers at a major sporting event. The main focus will be obtaining a basic profile of a volunteer who participated in a sports event that took place in Slovenia in 2021-European Championship U21. We are interested in knowing how organisations (in this case the Football Association of Slovenia and UEFA) treat volunteers who participate in sporting events and, in particular, why volunteers choose to work in this manner, given that they do not receive any payment for their work. We also talked about the issue of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic, which had a major impact on the actual organization of the mentioned event. The thesis consists of two parts: the theoretical part, where a descriptive methodology is used; the method of analysis, as well as the method of interpretation of the results of the analyses of EURO 2021 U21. The result of the analysis will be a profile of the volunteer who participated in the sports event and how they coped with working under strict hygiene measures. All major sporting events are marked by volunteers. As volunteers are not paid for their work, opinions differ on this type of work. Volunteers overwhelmingly see volunteering as a contribution to the society.
