20.500.12556/DKUM-94891 Blockchain technology implementation for traceability in the food supply chain – case research XIII. Food supply chains are evolving into coordinated systems, prompting competition between companies and entire supply networks. In this context, Short Food Supply Chains (SFSCs) have emerged as a response to public concerns about food sourcing and handling. Defined by the EU as systems involving few economic actors committed to local development and close producer-consumer relations, SFSCs present both opportunities and challenges. Among key challenges are identity management, transparency, and security. Blockchain technology, introduced shortly after SFSCs gained attention, offers promising solutions by enhancing traceability and linking product information with physical flows. This chapter explores the role of blockchain in addressing traceability challenges and presents a practical case of its application in SFSCs. agribusiness supply chains short food supply chains traceability technologies blockchain technology implementing blockchain in the food supply chain true false true University of Maribor, University Press Angleški jezik Angleški jezik Znanstveno delo 2025-08-29 03:32:06 2025-08-29 07:59:48 2025-08-30 03:37:20 0000-00-00 00:00:00 2025 0 0 Str. 271-301 0000-00-00 Zaloznikova Objavljeno NiDoloceno 0000-00-00 0000-00-00 2025-07-01 005.3 240863747 244718339 10.18690/um.epf.7.2025.13 https://press.um.si/index.php/ump/catalog/book/987/chapter/715 1 f9379159-8477-11f0-9b5d-00155d000105 https://dk.um.si/Dokument.php?lang=slv&id=196913 RAZ_Balaic_Marina_2025.pdf RAZ_Balaic_Marina_2025.pdf 1 939A3A82B14FC71E575DBD92827C1A4C f0eddffd9151e5311ef54ab5dfee0e3db96c15b13ac028c9d895249d61705f8f 535d8d16-849d-11f0-9b5d-00155d000105 https://dk.um.si/Dokument.php?lang=slv&id=196949 Ekonomsko-poslovna fakulteta 0 0 0
