20.500.12556/DKUM-96577 Opportunities and pitfalls of IT architectures for edge computing Networks and data centres are under a lot of stress due to the rapid growth of connected devices and the significant amount of data that they produce. While data centres are struggling with heavy workloads, the cloud-native IT solutions underutilise the increasingly powerful clients. By bringing computational capabilities closer to the edge, the Edge Computing direction offers a way to alleviate the pressure on data centres, reduce network traffic, and opens the way for novel applications that would take full advantage of the benefits it brings. Edge Computing can also supplement existing applications by giving them the resources to run new, more complex operations, or improve existing ones partially. Edge applications are less reliant on the cloud, and provide more stability and customisation to globally distributed systems. edge computing cloud computing IT architecture umetna inteligenca računalništvo v oblaku true false true IOS Press Angleški jezik Slovenski jezik https://ebooks.iospress.nl/ © 2024 The Authors Znanstveno delo 2026-01-20 08:30:22 2026-01-20 08:30:22 2026-01-21 03:34:07 0000-00-00 00:00:00 2024 0 0 Str. 318-325 0000-00-00 Zaloznikova Objavljeno NiDoloceno 0000-00-00 0000-00-00 2024-01-01 004.8 189068291 189070851 10.3233/FAIA231165 FAIA-380-FAIA231165.pdf FAIA-380-FAIA231165.pdf 1 CD7DE3AF19A4CF868E7EC7D24DEAFC4C 6bae36ec6368205b89d05763e8e049da959dc6e6463e5472f4f8de7af5422455 21aff0aa-f5d2-11f0-8ae2-00155d580e02 https://dk.um.si/Dokument.php?lang=slv&id=202230 https://ebooks.iospress.nl/volumearticle/66267 0 27361853-f5d2-11f0-8ae2-00155d580e02 https://dk.um.si/Dokument.php?lang=slv&id=202231 Fakulteta za elektrotehniko, računalništvo in informatiko 0 0 0
