| Opis: | Judo first appeared in the Prlekija region as a section of the Partizan Ljutomer Society of
Physical Education (Slov. Telesno vzgojno društvo Partizan Ljutomer), and has, through
various ups and downs, evolved as one of its most successful sections right up until the
present-day. This diploma paper highlights the key events, figures and results throughout the
history of this sport in Prlekija. It researches the clubs and societies, the professional staff
therein, the instances of achieving the “Master of Judo”title, the winners of medals at national
championships held in Slovenia and former Yugoslavia, official tournaments under the
auspices of the European and International Judo Federation, as well as placings within the
Slovenian team league system.
We compared the medals won by decades, the number of medal winners by gender, and the
number of medals won nationally and internationally. We presented all data in the form of
graphs, both for each individual decade and as a comparison between decades.
The diploma paper comprises data reaching back to 1962, which is when judo first appeared
in the heart of the Prlekija region, and all the way up to 2016.
We obtained the data necessary for this diploma paper from the club archive, the archive of
the Slovenian Judo Federation, oral sources, publications, books, material published by the
Slovenian Judo Federation, and the internet. |
