| Opis: | This diploma thesis examines ERP solutions and their importance for manufacturing companies. In their daily operations, companies use a large amount of data generated in sales, purchasing, warehousing, production, accounting, finance, and human resources. ERP solutions connect these areas within a single information system. Their purpose is to ensure that data is shared between departments, quickly accessible, and entered only once. Employees therefore use the same information, which reduces errors, data duplication, and additional manual work. Data integration is particularly important in a manufacturing company, where business processes are highly interdependent. Before confirming an order, the company must check inventory levels, material availability, production capacity, and the possible delivery date. Incorrect or delayed information may lead to delays, material shortages, production stoppages, and higher costs. An ERP solution enables the company to monitor orders, materials, production, working time, manufactured quantities, and costs in one place. The theoretical part presents the development of ERP solutions, their main characteristics, modules, and use in manufacturing companies. It describes the most common modules, including sales, purchasing, warehouse management, finance, accounting, human resources, and production. Particular attention is given to the production module, which supports bills of materials, routings, material requirements, work orders, production planning, and the monitoring of production activities and costs. The thesis also presents the use of artificial intelligence in manufacturing, which can support companies in processing large quantities of data, forecasting requirements, planning production, and making faster decisions. The practical part compares Infor SyteLine and KOPA ERP according to the needs of a medium-sized Slovenian manufacturing company. The comparison is based on architecture, functionalities, modules, production support, integration with other solutions, user support, and system maintenance. Based on the comparison, we found that Infor SyteLine offers a broader range of standard functionalities and more advanced production planning support. It is particularly suitable for companies with more complex manufacturing processes and greater standardisation requirements. KOPA ERP has advantages in terms of flexibility, Slovenian-language support, local user support, and knowledge of the Slovenian business environment. Both solutions can effectively support a medium-sized manufacturing company. The choice of the more suitable solution depends on the company’s processes, needs and way of working. |
