The Digital Library of the University of Maribor (DKUM) is the institutional repository of the University of Maribor. It supports open access to scientific, research, professional, and other works, as well as research data,  which are results of research and education processes at the University. It is an important part of implementing open science at the University of Maribor.

The publication of works in DKUM is in accordance with the University of Maribor Open Science Policy (POZUM) and supports the implementation of the Action Plan for Open Science (Objective 6.2 ReZrlS30), particularly in the field of ensuring open accessibility of research results and their monitoring. In this way, the university strengthens its social responsibility, promotes the exchange of scientific information, increases the impact of researchers’ research results and enhances the university’s reputation. DKUM enables compliance with research funders’ requirements regarding open access to all peer-reviewed publications and research data co-funded from public funds. Within the Horizon Europe programme for research and innovation, the European Commission, among other requirements, defines the provision of open access to peer-reviewed publications and access to research data in a trustworthy repository according to the principle “as open as possible, as closed as necessary” and the FAIR principles in a trusted repository.

DKUM includes works from all University of Maribor member institutions. Next to diplomas, master’s degrees, doctorates and other works by students it also includes reviewed publications from funded projects, electronic academic textbooks and materials, and other works whose authors are the University of Maribor staff or if they are published by the University of Maribor.
