Abstract:Magistrska naloga obravnava mehansko nihanje glasilke diatonične harmonike ter povezavo med njenimi geometrijskimi lastnostmi, lastno frekvenco in nastankom zvoka. V zaključnem poglavju sta podana kratek pregled učnih načrtov za fiziko v slovenskem šolstvu in predlog vključitve obravnavanega eksperimenta v pouk fizike.

Title:Experimental analysis of the vibration of a diatonic accordion reed using the Euler-Bernoulli beam model
Abstract:The master’s thesis investigates the mechanical vibration of a free reed in a diatonic button accordion and the relationship between its geometric properties, natural frequency, and sound production. It presents the theoretical background of mechanical vibrations, the construction and components of the diatonic button accordion, and the mechanism of sound production within the instrument. The classification of musical instruments is discussed, with particular emphasis on the classification of the diatonic button accordion as a free-reed aerophone. Special attention is devoted to modelling the free reed as an Euler–Bernoulli beam, which enables the description of its vibrational behaviour and the influence of its geometric and material properties on the vibration frequency. The accordion tuning procedure is experimentally investigated through the analysis of high-speed camera recordings. The vibration frequencies of the free reed are determined from the recordings and compared with the results obtained from the frequency analysis of the acoustic signal. The final chapter provides a brief overview of physics curricula in the Slovenian education system and proposes an example of how the investigated experiment could be incorporated into physics instruction.
Keywords:Mechanical oscillation, diatonic accordion, reed, Euler–Bernoulli beam, frequency analysis.
