Title:Nizka rast otrok in vloga medicinske sestre v pediatrični endokrinologiji

Abstract:Mnoge starše skrbi, ali je njihov otrok premajhen. Primerjajo ga z vrstniki v vrtcu ali na šolskem igrišču, pa tudi s sorodniki in prijatelji. Nizka rast, ki je tema tega diplomskega dela bo poudarila redkost te bolezni. Diplomsko delo smo oblikovali v treh delih. V prvem delu je predstavljena nizka rast z medicinskega vidika. Anatomija endokrinih žlez, fiziologija delovanja rastnega hormona, ugotavljanje nizke rasti pri otroku in nadomestnem zdravljenju z rastnim hormonom k temu pa smo vključili še vlogo in naloge medicinske sestre v ambulanti za endokrinologijo, diabetes in presnovne bolezni Pediatrične klinike UKC v Ljubljani. V drugem delu smo oblikovali standarde za antropološke meritve, ki se uporabljajo pri ugotavljanju nizke rasti pri otrocih, odvzem krvnega seruma za določitev količine rastnega hormona in o aplikaciji zdravila rastni hormon po procesu zdravstvene nege. V tem delu smo opisali tudi zdravstveno vzgojo staršev in otroka, ki bo prejemal zdravilo rastni hormon. Zavedamo se, da so informacije, ki jih posredujejo zdravstveni delavci na obolele otroke in njihove svojce že pol poti do želenega rezultata pri zdravljenju. Tretji del diplomske naloge je empirični del. Pri empiričnem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela. Podatki so bili zbrani s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika, ki je obsegal 20 vprašanj. Raziskava je bila opravljena po Dispanzerjih za otroke Zdravstvenega doma dr. Adolfa Drolca v Mariboru, na kliničnem oddelku za endokrinologijo, diabetes in presnovne bolezni Pediatrične klinike UKC v Ljubljani in na kliničnem oddelku za alergologijo in revmatske bolezni Pediatrične klinike UKC v Ljubljani. V raziskavi smo želeli izvedeti, kakšno je znanje zdravstvenih delavcev o nizki rasti in rezultate med seboj primerjali. Odgovori so se med seboj razlikovali, kar je bilo pričakovati, saj so le na kliničnem oddelku za endokrinologijo, edini v Sloveniji, ki se ukvarjajo z zdravljenjem nizke rasti.

Title:Low growth in children and the role of a nurse in the pediatric endocrinology
Abstract:Many parents worry whether their child is too small. They compare it to his peers in the kindergarten or at the school playground, as well as with their relatives and friends. Low growth, which is the subject of this graduate work, will highlight the rarity of this disease. We designed this graduate work in three parts. The first part presents low growth from the medical grounds. This includes the anatomy of endocrine glands, physiology of the growth hormone activity, diagnosing low growth in the child and the replacement therapy with growth hormones. To this, we included the role and functions of nurses in the clinic for endocrinology, diabetes and metabolic diseases in UKC Pediatric Clinic in Ljubljana. In the second part of our graduate work, we have developed standards for anthropological measurements, which are used in determining the low growth in children, withdrawal of blood serum to determine the amount of the growth hormone and the application of the growth hormone after the health care process. In this section we describe the health education of parents and children who will receive a growth hormone medicine. We are aware that the information provided by health professionals to ill children and their close relatives is already halfway to the desired result in the treatment. The third part of the graduate work is the empirical part. In the empirical work, we used the descriptive method. Data were collected through a survey questionnaire, which comprised 20 questions. The survey was carried out by the Child health clinic of Adolf Drolc in Maribor, at the Clinical department for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic diseases at the UKC Pediatric Clinic in Ljubljana and in the Clinical section of Allergology and Rheumatic diseases at the UKC Pediatric Clinic in Ljubljana. In the study we wanted to know what the health workers in different clinics know about low growth and compare the results. The answers were distinctive, which was expected, since only the clinical section for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic diseases is involved in the treatment of low growth in Slovenia.
