Keywords:konkurenčne prednosti turizma v Sloveniji, možnosti za razvoj turizma v Pomurju, mnenja domačinov in zaposlenih v turistični panogi o učinkih turizma, pozitivni in negativni učinki turizma.

Title:POSSIBILITIES FOR TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN THE POMURJE REGION
Abstract:Tourism is also for the Pomurje region a real development opportunity. Pomurje is a beautiful mainly rural landscape with a lot of unexploited tourist possibilities. Space and settlement characteristics, preserved nature and water sources are the potentials which enable the development of recognisable tourist products distinctive of the region. But unfortunately, tourism is developing only in some parts of the Pomurje, mainly in the spa Moravske Toplice, and the residents of the region are aware that the other parts full with natural treasures yet remain unknown for lots of tourists. Health resort tourism is and will remain the solid base of this region, however it should evolve all the other main forms of tourism with its accompanying activities. By the inquiry analysis, the statements are confirmed (see page No. 6): • Pomurje is ecologically well preserved and full of thermal and mineral water sources, which are essential for tourism in this region. However, in the opinions of the respondents there are still many unexploited potentials. • This region is famous for its natural potentials for health resort tourism and the Mura river, but hunting and rural tourism by the wine roads are, considering the possibilities, not enough developed. • Among the interviewed residents of Pomurje and employees in tourism positive effects of tourism predominate over negative. • Both interviewed groups are very much in favour of further development and spreading of tourism in Pomurje region.
Keywords:competitive advantages of tourism in Slovenia, potentials for tourism development in Pomurje, opinions of residents and employees in tourist sector of tourism development, positive and negative effects of tourism.
