Title:DATA MODEL TO SUPPORT PEDICURE SALON BUSINESS
Abstract:A company, that performs pedicures at clients’ home, is facing an increasing time setback at logging and processing information. In this diploma we’ve tried to search for the cause of such problems, find a possibility of improvements, and suggest possible solutions. Diploma is split into three parts. First, there is an analysis of the company’s state, and a short presentation of the company and the problem. We’ve analyzed a problem and tried to capture essential causes and consequences of the problem, and we also did an analysis and description of a company’s business process. The problem is connected to documentation and logging of data, so we collected all with the process associated documents and tried to find out which data do they contain. On the basis of gathered information we discovered critical points in the business process and documentation. Second, we presented the suggested solution to the company, which could solve or at least limit the problem at certain assumption and limitations. Along with some organization changes we suggest launching a new information system, which should cover the process of doing pedicure services at home. Main element of the system should be graphical interface for filing data about clients and their problems, including a symbolic picture of a foot where notes can be added. Last, we critically evaluated the solution and tried to find the spots, where a company can face problems with using the information system.
