Title:Mnenja staršev o podpori, obravnavi in izobraževanju otrok z avtizmom

Abstract:Avtizem je nevrološko-biološka razvojna motnja, pri kateri je prizadet predel za komunikacijo in socialne odnose. Stopnje in intenzivnosti motnje so izražene drugače pri vsakem posamezniku, imajo pa razpon od lažjih do težkih oblik. Avtistom je skupno to, da imajo težave pri komuniciranju, učenju, občutenju in socialnih odnosih. Sama sem o avtizmu vedela zelo malo, kar me je vzpodbudilo h globljemu raziskovanju in odkrivanju značilnosti in posebnosti te skrivnostne motnje. V prvem delu diplomske naloge sem s pomočjo strokovne literature podala teoretična izhodišča o avtizmu, družini in izobraževalnemu sistemu, v katerega so vključeni otroci z avtizmom. V drugem delu pa sem poskušala zbrati informacije, znanja in izkušnje staršev, ki imajo otroka z avtizmom. Preučila sem, kakšno je njihovo mnenje o podpori, obravnavi in izobraževanju njihovih otrok. Poskušala sem predstaviti vsakodnevne težave staršev in ovire, s katerimi se srečujejo med razvojem otrok z avtizmom, mnenje staršev o strokovnih službah in sprejetje otroka s strani sorodnikov, prijateljev in drugih oseb. Prav tako sem poskušala ugotoviti, kako je otrok z avtistično motnjo vključen v vzgojno-izobraževalni proces, kako se počuti v razredu in kako ga sprejemajo vrstniki. S pomočjo mentorice sem izdelala anketni vprašalnik in ga ob pomoči predstavnic Centra za avtizem, Društva DAN in CSG Maribor razdelila staršem otrok z avtizmom. Na podlagi rezultatov sem ugotovila, da vsaka družina doživlja avtizem na svoj edinstven način. Starši želijo več informacij in nasvetov strokovnjakov, a so na splošno zadovoljni z delom strokovnih služb. Otrokom z avtizmom lahko najbolje pomagamo z zgodnjo diagnozo, učinkovito obravnavo in dodelanim vzgojno-izobraževalnim načrtom, zato je učinkovito delo teh institucij še posebej pomembno.

Title:OPINIONS OF PARENTS ON THE SUPPORT, DISCUSSION AND EDUCATION OF THE CHILDREN WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS
Abstract:Autism is a brain development disorder characterized by impaired social interaction and communication. The intensity of this disorder is on the scale from mild to severe and it varies from person to person. Autistic individuals display many forms of impairments in social interaction; impairments in communication; and restricted interest in learning and emotion recognition. I knew very little about autism, therefore I was encouraged into an in-depth research of characteristics and particularities of this phenomenon. Firstly, in this diploma paper, the theoretical frame based on the expert studies was made, providing facts about autism, family affection and educational system for autistic children. Secondly, in the empirical part of my research, the main goal was to gather various opinions of autistic children’s parents’. They were asked to provide their opinion of the support, special treatment and education their children are enjoying. Moreover, they were encouraged to talk about their problems in daily living parenting an autistic child, the support and supervision they get from the specialist service institutions and what kind of social environment challenges they are dealing with – being accepted as a family in the eyes of their relatives, friends and wider society. In addition to that, my scope of research was also turned to the autistic child himself; what his educational options are and how he manages to interact within the peer climate in his class. In cooperation with my mentor, I drafted a questionnaire that was presented to the parents by the representatives of three main institutions for autistic individuals in Slovenia: Center za avtizem, Društvo DAN and CSG Maribor. In the light of the results of the comprehensive examination, every family is facing autism in its own unique way. Parents of autistic children want more information from experts and specialists, but generally, they are content with the specialist institutions at their disposal. Early diagnose of autism, efficient educational curriculum and special treatment can only be beneficial for autistic children; therefore efficient operation of the specialist institutions is of main importance.
