Title:THE PARENTAL ROLE IN MOVEMENT/SPORTS ACTIVITY OF CHILDREN IN KINDERGARTEN PTUJ
Abstract:SUMMARY The diploma titled The parental role in movement/sports activity of children in Kindergarten Ptuj consists of two parts: theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part we presented the motorical development of children, the role and meaning of family concerning the motorical development, how much time adults dedicate their time to sport activities and how important is the parental impact on the motorical development of children. The empirical part consists of the research findings, which were acquired by a questionnaire on the pattern of 150 parents of children in Kindergarten Ptuj. The purpose of the research was to find out the parental impact and the role of the motorical development of children regarding their sex, age, profession, education and the environment in which they live. The processing of the data showed the following results: parents do not spend enough time with their children in movement/sports activities, participation in movement/sports activities of parents with their children depends on the education degree and partly on the parents age. Children, whose parents have been or were active in sport, are not more active in sport as children, whose parents did not practise any sport. Children who live in a town are more active than children who live in the countryside. Parents are active because of their wellbeing and maintenance of their physical condition. Fathers are less active with children as mothers are. The most common reason for parents not being active in sports is lack of time.
Keywords:Key words: preschool child, motorical abilities of a child, family and sport
