Title:PHYSICS OF CLIMATE MODELS AND APPLICATIONS IN TEACHING PHYSICS
Abstract:In the last century the average temperature on Earth has risen for 0,7 K. The warming of the atmosphere depends on several parameters. In my diploma work I studied the physical background of climate models and prepared a proposal for use in teaching of physics. First I described natural events which affect the warming of atmosphere. Further on I described the physical principles of climate models and the first simple Fourier model. In the body of the diploma work I calculated the average temperature on Earth under four different conditions: - Earth without atmosphere - Earth with steady atmosphere - Earth encircled with air - Earth covered with forest. I indicated how the concentration of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases affect the emissions and the average temperature of Earth's atmosphere. I presented the calculated models with a computer program »Changing the temperature«, which calculates the average temperature on Earth as a function of emissivity and can be used in teaching physics in school.
