Abstract:Izhodišča: Telesna teža, normalna, prekomerna ali prenizka zelo opazno vpliva na človekov videz in njegovo samopodobo. Prenizke telesne teže in hude debelosti v raziskavi nismo zasledili.

Title:Bodyweight Analysis of Factory Workers and Administrators
Abstract:Abstract Background: A body weight, normal, excessive or low, has a noticeable effect on human appearance and self-esteem. Most of the people are devoting the necessary attention to it. Services which are dealing with health care of active population must educate workers at work organizations about healthy nutrition and encourage them and their families to eat healthy. Each individual should practice healthy nutrition and maintain a normal body weight which means taking care of good health. Purpose: Based on the analysis of body mass, we wanted to find out if production workers have higher body mass than administrative workers, and if education has an impact on the body mass of the workers. Methods: A descriptive method of work was applied. This retrospective study encompasses data gained in 2008 from Zdravstveni Dom Slovenska Bistrica at Dispanzer Medicine Dela, Prometa in Športa. A sample encompassed 50 administrative workers and 50 production workers. We used a body mass index for defining stages of obesity. Results: The research has shown that education, workplace, and gender have an effect on body mass; however, it is not as extensive as we had predicted. Categories severely underweight and obese class III were not detected in our research. Conclusions: Healthy nutrition safeguards your health and, at the same time, prevents risk factors for different diseases. It is a fact that education effects body mass, as well as the healthy nutrition awareness of workers at work organizations and people in general, and the awareness of effects body mass has on health.
