V jami prevladujejo suha južina jamnik (Amilenus aurantiacus), jamska kobilica Troglophilus cavicola, hrošča Laemosthenus (Antisphodrus) schreibersi in Atheta sp., dvokrilca limonija (Limonia nubecolosa) in komar Culex pipiens ter nedoločeni predstavniki Acarina, Isotomidae, Trichoceridae, Sciaridae in Phoridae. S pomočjo Simpsonovega indeksa dominance in Shannon-Weanerjevega indeksa vrstne diverzitete smo ugotovili, da večina vrst preferira vhodne dele jame, kjer potekajo sezonske migracije favne.

Title:FAUNA OF KREŠČAK CAVE IN THE VILLAGE KORITNO AT VELIKA DOLINA
Abstract:In the village of Koritno in the utmost northwestern part of Gorjanci, there is a Kreščak cave, named according to a brittle conglomerate in which the cave is created. In the years 2005/2006, the fauna and selected abiotic factors were investigated twice each season within the span of 48 hours. The cave was divided into 25 inventory sections. The fauna was investigated by ceiling and walls inspection, placing pit-fall traps and drying ground materials on modified Berleze funnels. Additionally, in the entrance, the middle and the end part of the cave, small mammals’ traps were placed. At the sample spots, the following abiotic factors were measured seasonally: air and ground temperature, and relative air and ground humidity. Ground pH and colour were determined only once. During intensive systematic measurements at least 48 taxa, which live in the cave permanently or occasionally, were found. Taxa with 30 or more specimens recorded were treated as dominant. The harvestman Amilenus aurantiacus, cave cricket Troglophilus cavicola, beetles Laemosthenus (Antisphodrus) schreibersi and Atheta sp., the dipterans Limonia nubecolosa and the mosquito Culex pipiens, and undetermined species of Acarina, Isotomidae, Trichoceridae, Sciaridae and Phoridae prevailed in the cave. By using Shannon-Weaner’s index of biotic diversity and Simpson’s index of dominance it was found out that most of the species prefer the entrance part of the cave, where seasonal migrations of fauna between the epigean and hypogean environment take place.
