Title:Human resource development for effective and efficient work in general hospital Jesenice
Abstract:The purpose of my thesis, entitled Human resource development for successful and efficient workplace in General hospital Jesenice, is to discover, how the employees understand and grade their chances for further education. An anonymous survey was used to determine if the employee motivation for further education is sufficient, and if the employees understand the further education system. Results was statistically analyzed and searched through human resource management literature to discover different ways with which to improve hospital staff motivation and thus increase work efficiency. The survey results show, that one half of the hospital nursing staff does not know the source of further education course financing. Most of the staff included in the survey claim that they attend these education courses to improve the quality of their work, while three quarters of respondents say that they are motivated enough by their superiors. One quarter of respondents think that there is a chance for improvement. The learning technique they prefer is surprisingly frontal and not practical, which has the biggest effect on the quality of their work, since human learning is a trial based experience. Very few participants have ever attended a further education course abroad, which is mostly reserved for the higher ranking staff members. On the basis of human resource literature, some ways to improve the current system of further education were discovered, especially with better foreign exchange of information and educations with foreign hospitals. This would be beneficial for the management of all human resources in our hospital as most staff members said that they can use the recently acquired experiences in everyday practice.
