Abstract:	V času informacijske družbe postajajo množični mediji vse bolj vpleteni v odraščanje otrok in mladostnikov v razvitem svetu. Računalnik in internet sta elektronska medija, ki zaradi svoje rabe postajata nepogrešljiva spremljevalca mladih pri izobraževanju, kot tudi v prostem času. V diplomskem delu so opisane možnosti uporabe računalnika in interneta v prostem času in v šoli. S tem, ko se uporaba računalnika in interneta iz leta v leto veča, se povečujejo tudi možnosti zlorabe. Internet ima, tako kot ostali mediji, pozitivne kot tudi negativne posledice. Pri uporabi računalnika in interneta so pomemben dejavnik tudi starši, ki naj bi svojemu otroku časovno omejili uporabo le-tega, jim svetovali ali pa kupili primerno igro ali izobraževalni program za prosti čas. V diplomskem delu smo predstavili teoretično in empirično zgoraj omenjeno problematiko, ter seveda kakšni so vplivi in posledice uporabe računalnika z internetom, pa naj so to pozitivni ali negativni.

Title:	A CHILD AND COMPUTER - FREE TIME IN SECOND PRIMARY SCHOOL TRIAD
Abstract:	In the time of the information society mass media are becoming more and more involved in the growing up of children and adolescents of the developed countries. The computer and the internet are electronic media that are, because of its use, becoming an indispensable companion in the youth’s education and also in their free time. The possibilities of using the computer and the internet in free time and in school are described in the diploma work. The increasing use of the computer and the internet in free time also increases the possibilities of misuse. Like other media, the internet has positive and negative effects. An important factor of computer and internet use are also the parents that should give their children a time limit of using the latter and advise them or buy a suitable game or educational programme for their free time activities. The problems mentioned above are presented empirically and theoretically and the influences and consequences of computer and internet use are also presented whether they are positive or negative.
