Abstract:	V diplomskem delu z naslovom Elementi grozljivega v sodobni slovenski mladinski prozi je obravnavan pojem grozljivega in značilnosti čustvenega odzivanja bralcev na grozljivo fikcijo. Elementi grozljivega se pojavljajo v številnih delih sodobne slovenske mladinske proze, tako da se v njih pojavljajo kot fragmenti oz. drobci ali relativno krajši odseki, vendar pa je osnovna perspektiva naravnana k čemu drugemu. Ta dela tvorijo podobo skupnih (žanrskih) značilnosti in lastnosti; predvsem se v ospredje izražajo: boj dobro—zlo; polariziranje književnih oseb; določljiva meja med resničnim in domišljijskim oz. umišljenim z vidika izkušnje bralca; vidik čustvenega odzivanja kot kognitivna pojavnost, ki temelji na narativnem postopku podajanja fiktivnosti; pravljičnost pripovednih besedil. Metodologija diplomskega dela temelji predvsem na teoretičnem delu z različnimi viri tuje strokovne literature. Težišče naloge predstavlja deskriptivna metoda, s katero se opišejo osnovni pojmi: grozljivost, žanr, grozljiva literatura, grozljiva fikcija. Z zgodovinsko metodo bo preučen pojem gotskega romana in njegov vpliv na razvoj sodobnih grozljivih romanov. Na osnovi ugotovljenega se prvine grozljivega v obravnavanih besedilih opredeljujejo kot sestavine značilnosti fantastičnih in pravljičnih besedil v potencialni večžanrski pripadnosti samih besedil. Grozljiva fikcija s čustvom groze vpliva na bralca. Narativno strukturirane grozljive zgodbe zbujajo željo po védenju o nečem, kar ne obstaja. Radovednost, ki je prisotna skozi celoten potek zgodbe, je kognitivne narave.

Title:	Elements of uncanniness in the contemporary Slovene youth prose
Abstract:	The diploma work titled Elements of uncanniness in the contemporary Slovene youth prose deals with the conception of uncanny and characteristics of emotional response of the readers to uncanny fiction. Elements of uncanniness appear in a number of works of Slovene youth prose, in a way that they appear in them as fragments or chips or as relatively short sections with primary perspective of the novel focused on some other theme. These works form a picture of common (genre) characteristics and qualities; the themes which are especially brought to the foreground are: the struggle of Good and Evil, polarising of literary personas, determinable boundary line between the real and the imaginary from the point of the reader’s experience, aspect of the emotional response as a cognitive phenomenon which is based on the narrative procedure of rendering of the fictive; fairytaleness of narrative texts. The methodology of the diploma work is based primarily on theoretical work with various sources of foreign professional literature. Descriptive method was used as a central method of the research work for this diploma paper. This method enables the description of essential concepts such as: uncanniness or the horrible, genre, literature of the uncanny, gothic fiction. The concept of a gothic novel and of its influence on the development of contemporary uncanny novels will be closely examined by the historical method. On the basis of the ascertained can the primary elements of the uncanny in the examined works be defined as the components of the characteristics of fantasy and fairytale texts in a potential polygenre qualification of the researched texts. Narratively structured uncanny stories arouse a desire for knowing of that which cannot be known. Inquisitiveness which is present throughout the entire course of a story is of a cognitive nature.
