Abstract:Odbojko v kategoriji dečkov igrajo fantje, stari 14 in 15 let.

Title:STATISTICAL AND SCORING MODEL OF BOYS VOLLEYBALL GAME
Abstract:Volleyball in boys’ category is played by boys at the age of 14 and 15 years. The game is played in accordance with the international volleyball rules with the exception of playing system which was adapted to the age of players by the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia. In order to determine some of the characteristics of the statistical model, we observed and analyzed video clips of volleyball matches played in the season 2007-08. Our purpose was to establish how many points can a team score with individual volleyball elements (service of the ball, attack, blocking) and, at the same time, the share of opponent’s errors. By comparing the results we came to the conclusion that the winning team of the national championship in boys’ category, compared to other teams, shows in attack an immense deviation. Based on the processed data we developed a scoring model in boys’ category and compared it to the scoring model in senior category. The results showed that all the teams lag behind in blocking and attacking (except the winning team). Furthermore, the number of one’s own errors is much higher than in senior category. The acquired data can be of assistance to a coach with his/her coaching. When preparing teams and/or individual players, a coach will be able to compare the data and determine in which volleyball element the team or players still fall behind the best team in their category.
