Abstract:V nalogi smo predstavili spajanje in meritve zračnih optičnih kablov posebej v elektroenergetskih sistemih, pri čemer smo upoštevali ITU-T standarde za enorodovna optična vlakna.

Title:SPLICING AND MEASUREMENT OF AERIAL OPTICAL CABLES WITHIN POWER TRANSFER SYSTEMS
Abstract:In our diploma thesis we introduced splicing and measurements of optical aerial cables particularly in electricity transmission systems where we took into consideration the ITU-T standards for single mode optical fibers. We introduced optical communications types where we illustrated the most important ingredients of the optical transmission route as are sources, transmission mediums and detection devices. We separately introduced different types of optical aerial cables and cable connectors that are most commonly used in electricity transmission systems with emphasis on OPGW cables and cable connectors. For transmission medium we used a OPGW cable, type OPGW 56-27SA, 24 G.652.D which has as 24 single mode fibers that meets the standard ITU-T G.652D. For splicing of single mode optical fibers we used fusion splicing machine FSM 60S, for storage and splinting of splices we used metal cable joint box type 180 LC which have 4 entries so we can permanently connect up to four OPGW cables with at most 48 splices. In the last part of diploma thesis we introduced measurements of OPGW cables before laying und connected optical transmission routes at wave lengths 1310 in 1550 nm and with this ensured and handed over to investor connected transmission route which complies with theoretically calculated route-losses in the project documentation and ITU-T standard.
