Abstract:	V teoretičnem delu je najprej na kratko predstavljen razvoj govora predšolskih otrok po razvojnih starostnih obdobjih. Opisani so notranji in še posebej zunanji dejavniki, ki vplivajo na razvoj govora. Bolj podrobno pa so v teoretičnem delu opisane dejavnosti, ki spodbujajo razvoj otrokovega govora v vrtcu, doma in ob drugih aktivnostih. V drugi polovici teoretičnega dela so opisane pravljične ure kot ena izmed aktivnosti za spodbujanje govora otrok. Opisani so nameni pravljičnih ur, načela in navedena izbira literature. V empiričnem delu sem s pomočjo ankete, izvedene med pravljičarji v knjižnicah na širšem območju (severna in vzhodna Slovenija ), ugotavljala, v kolikšni meri lahko pravljične ure spodbujajo razvoj govora otrok. Ugotovila sem, da večji del dejavnosti večine pravljičarjev spodbuja razvoj govora otrok in da tudi veliko uporabljajo različne govorne igre. Ker so otroci povsod zelo aktivni udeleženci pravljičnih ur in pri vseh dejavnostih radi sodelujejo ter se v vseh knjižnicah pogosto vračajo, sem sklepala, da pravljične ure lahko pripomorejo k spodbujanju razvoja govora otrok.

Title:	FAIRY-TALE HOURS - ONE OF THE ACTIVITES TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDRENS SPEECH
Abstract:	At the beginning, the theoretical part of the thesis gives a brief presentation of children’s speech development within different periods of their age. Some internal and especially external facts affecting the development of speech are described in this part. There follows a more detailed description of various activities used to promote the development of children’s speech in kindergartens, at home and at other activities. In the second part, the so called fairy-tale hours are described as one of the activities used to promote children’s speech. Furthermore, there is given a description of the purposes of these fairy-tale hours, different principles, as well as the choice of literature. The empirical part of the thesis contains results and findings of a survey. The survey was carried out among storytellers in libraries in a broader region of Slovenia (North and East) in order to find out to what extend fairy-tale hours can promote the development of children’s speech on the basis of activities carried out during these hours. The analysis of this survey shows that most storytellers use such activities and speech-games which promote the development of speech. Children are very active participants within fairy-tale hours, they like to participate in all activities and in addition, they often return to libraries. These facts prove that fairy-tale hours really can help to promote the development of children’s speech.
