Abstract:Vzajemni sklad je združeno premoženje večjega števila vlagateljev in omogoča enostavno varčevanje v vrednostnih papirjih.

Title:MUTUAL FUND INVESTORS RESPONSE TO THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS IN SLOVENIA AND ABROAD
Abstract:Mutual fund is joint assets of a large number of investors for easy savings in securities. The mutual funds are increasingly more popular type of savings in securities in our country and abbroad. This confirms the fact that the assets of mutual funds were growing until 2007, when the world was shaken by the global financial crisis. Investors around the world have been selling their investments in capital markets and cause a drop in rates, which has affected the industry of mutual funds. It is true that the crisis affected some countries much less than others. Slovenia was one of the countries where the mutual fund industry was more affected. The main reason for this is history, which in Slovenia is relatively short, compared to more developed countries in the west. Consequently, with a brief history of Slovenian investors, they have less experience and they invest in mutual funds more risky, as investors abroad. The expectation would be that investors would learn something from the crisis, but since the falls eased, they again create the old patterns. Slovenian investors still tend to invest in the most risky equity mutual funds, which in case of falling rates lose most value. So the investors still need some time to recognize that the investment in mutual funds needs a good spread of portfolio.
