Abstract:Življenje je polno presenečen. Živimo vsak zase, uresničujemo svoje cilje in načrtujemo svojo prihodnost.

Title:Dementia patient in coexistence with relatives
Abstract:Life is full of surprise. We live separately, realizing our goals and plan their future. Quality of life plays an important role in our daily lives. The age you want to talk, as the autumn of life. Population age structure is changing rapidly. Reduces the proportion of younger and older population increases. With aging, the number of people with dementia in Slovenia rising sharply. Diploma thesis about the age, as the last period of life of human development and the syndrome of dementia as a disease that is characteristic for this period. We focused not stay forms of dementia patient at home. We estimated that the relatives need more help and encouragement in keeping the elderly with dementia. Study the characteristics of explicit research. It involved 30 families with forms of dementia patients. For the purposes of research, we have developed a questionnaire through which we have found that relatives are aware of the disease, but nevertheless wish to have additional forms of education in the field of dementia. At the appearance of the disease, their quality of life changed in particular the functional level (organization of life). The survey showed that most family members do not think about installing the elderly in institutional care. Many prefer to make use of them to day care for the elderly. Relatives have established a good relationship with nursing home, which allows them to individual treatment, help them manage the disease, advises and provides other assistance. This thesis would like to point out that there are still many people do not understand the concept of dementia. We believe that knowledge and understanding of dementia and problems of the disease provides improved quality of life for their relatives, such as the elderly with dementia.
