Title:THE YOUTH AND THEIR FIRST EMPLOYMENT
Abstract:Sooner or later, young adults have to face finding their first employment. Some while they are still in school, others later in life. Nowadays, finding your first employment is a difficult task, and most tackle it with the help from people they know and their connections. The biggest problem they have to face is lack of work experience. The thesis is divided into two parts, a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part we focused on the status of young adults on the labour market and the categories of young adults on the labour market. We also indicated the factors that affect the employment of young adults and describe how employment offices and other employment agencies are of great assistance in regards of helping them find employment. In the last chapter we focused on the measures and actions that can increase employability of young adults. In the practical part, we ascertained, through the means of research, that young adults mainly decide on what they will study only because they are interested in the educational programme of the course they select. During their studies, young adults work through student employment services, but in most cases only to earn some additional money. We found out that most young adults do not start looking for their first employment until they finish their studies. At the employment offices we researched what type of additional training young adults prefer to take part in and if they are even willing to participate in them.
