Title:PRESCHOOL CHILDCARE WORKER COMPETENCE IN THE FIELD OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES
Abstract:We can no longer imagine our lives without the media. It accompanies us everywhere. Children come across print media the before they even enter school and despite the fact they cannot read and write themselves. They also meet with radio and other audio media, such as cassette and CD players. How children will integrate in the world of the media and how their media literacy will develop depends on the influence, role model and knowledge transfer of the adults. The purpose of the diploma paper is to study the understanding and the presence of information and communication technologies when working with preschool children, and the competence of preschool children teachers in the area of information and communication technology. We are also interested in preschool children teachers’ possibilities to gain enough competence to perform their job successfully regarding information and communication technology and its further use as well as how they include these technologies into their educational work. The execution of the diploma paper is divided into three parts. In the first part we will demonstrate all the theoretical starting points, the second empirical part includes working methodology where we will introduce all the hypotheses followed by the last part which containing the results interpretation obtained with the help of a survey questionnaire which was submitted to randomly chosen kindergartens.
