Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava pojmovanje stresa v vsakdanjem življenju, vire in posledice stresa. Predstavi različne definicije in vrste stresa. V nadaljevanju je podrobneje predstavljeno pojmovanje stresa v delovnem okolju in njegove posledice, predstavitev načinov za obvladovanje in premaganje stresa, njegova vloga v življenju posameznika in delovanju organizacije. Velikokrat se niti ne zavedamo, da živimo s stresom in ne prepoznamo njegovih posledic, saj veliko število posameznikov živi v zmoti, da stres doživljamo občasno v življenju, zato so podrobneje predstavljeni viri in posledice stresa. Namreč stres doživljamo tudi takrat, ko vznemirjenja niso velika npr. branje črne kronike, vendar prav tako ne smemo zanemariti tovrstnih vznemirjenj in njihovega vpliva na psihično in fizično zdravje. Vendar pa stres lahko doživljamo tudi v pozitivnem smislu. Z različnimi metodami odpravljanja stresa izboljšamo medsebojne odnose v delovnem okolju in družini, povečamo učinkovitost in kakovost opravljenega dela, kar posledično vpliva na našo samopodobo in osebnostno rast. Torej stres je v določenih primerih dobrodošel, saj nas motivira in nas potiska naprej,da se osebnostno razvijamo da raziskujemo tudi druga znanja, modrosti, vede, ki vplivajo na odnos in sprejemanje stresorjev oziroma postanemo kreatorji svojih življenj.

Title:PERSONAL GROWTH AS A RESULT OF DISTRESS AT WORK
Abstract:The theme of this diploma work is the stress in everyday life, its origin and its consequences. Different definitions and types of stress are presented. Later the diploma work presents in detail the stress in a working environment and its consequences, different methods how to cope with this stress and the influence of the stress at work on an individual’s life and on the working atmosphere in an organization. Many individuals think that stress has a periodical nature and are not aware that they encounter stress on a daily basis. Namely, the stress can be caused just by for example reading a newspaper crime colum, and even the influence of this kind of smaller stress on an individual’s psychological and physical health has to be put into consideration. But stress can also have positive consequences. By using and researching different methods to cope with the stress, the relationships at work and in a family can improve, the efficiency and quality of work can rise, and consequently the individual develops a better self-esteem and undergoes personal growth. In this case the stress ia a motivating factor for personal growth, people are motivated to look for solutions, to be knowledgable and open to wisdom from different sciences, all informing about the reasons behind the stress and how to look positively at stress, how to personally grow with its purpose and become a creator of life
