Abstract:	Diplomsko delo obravnava življenjske stile prebivalcev zaprte stanovanjske soseske v obmestju Maribora. V teoretičnem delu diplomske naloge smo najprej opredelili razmerje med socialno geografijo in sociologijo, saj se koncepti obeh disciplin v diplomski nalogi povezujejo in so združeni v celoto. Opredelili smo pojem socialna skupina in pojem socialni prostor. Socialni prostor smo obravnavali na podlagi različnih znanstvenih pristopov. Najprej smo se posvetili socialno prostorski dialektiki, ki prostor obravnava iz geografskega stališča. Nato smo dodali še sociološko dojemanje socialnega prostora, kjer smo izbrali interpretativni, strukturalistični in kulturni pristop. V nadaljevanju smo se posvetili geografskim definicijam urbanizacije, suburbanizacije, urbanizacijskega cikla ter dodali izsledke sociologov, ki so se ukvarjali s temi procesi. Od procesov v prostoru smo prešli na opis konkretnega prostora, zaprtih sosesk. V nadaljevanju smo opredelili življenjski stil, s pomočjo katerega smo se v empiričnem delu lotili proučevanja konkretne socialne skupine. Znotraj te teme smo posebaj obravnavali družbeno neenakost in delitev na socialne sloje ter podrobneje opredelili značilnosti življenjskih stilov. Pri tem smo kot teoretično osnovo uporabili teorijo Pierra Boudieuja. V empiričnem delu smo želeli ugotoviti, kateri življenjski stili se pojavljajo v socialni skupini, ki živi v zaprti soseski v obmestju Maribora in kakšne so značilnosti teh življenjskih stilov. Najprej so prikazane morfološke značilnosti soseske, nato analiza socialnogeografskih značilnosti in stopnje mobilnosti. Sledi analiza kvalitativnih intervjujev stanovalcev zaprte soseske. V sklepnem delu so prikazane ugotovitve, do katerih smo prišli med izdelavo diplomskega dela.

Title:	LIFESTYLES OF RESIDENTS IN A GATED COMMUNITY THE CASE OF THE GATED COMMUNITY POD PEKRSKO GORCO IN THE MARIBOR SUBURBS
Abstract:	The undergraduate dissertation discusses the lifestyles of people living in a gated community in the Maribor suburbs. The theoretical part provides a definition of the relation between social geography and sociology since the concepts of both disciplines are linked together in this undergraduate dissertation and united into a whole. The definitions of the notions social group and social space are also provided. Social space was discussed on the basis of various scientific approaches. At first, social dialectics which deals with space from the viewpoint of geography was addressed. Then, the sociological comprehension of social space was added using the interpretative, structuralist and cultural approaches. The next step was to focus on the geographical definitions of urbanisation, suburbanisation and urbanisation cycle as well as adding the findings of sociologists who studied these processes. In addition to the processes in space the paper also describes a specific space, namely gated neighbourhoods. Furthermore, the concept of lifestyle was defined which was helpful when engaging into a study of a specific social group in the empirical part. Within this topic, the concepts of social inequality and the division into social classes were discussed specifically. Moreover, the characteristics of lifestyle were defined in detail based on the theory by Pierre Boudieu. The empirical part focuses on the lifestyles of the social group living in a gated community in the Maribor suburbs. The aim was to discover which lifestyles are present and to define their characteristics. Firstly, the morphological characteristics of the neighbourhood are presented, followed by social-geographical characteristics and mobility stages. The next task was the analysis of the qualitative interviews with the tenants living in the gated community. The conclusion offers a presentation of the findings which resulted from the work on this undergraduate dissertation.
