Abstract:Diplomsko delo je sestavljeno iz teoretičnega in empiričnega dela. V prvem delu so opisani sonce, ozon, ozonska luknja, sončna svetloba — njene dobre in slabe strani — ter uporaba zaščitnih sredstev. Predstavljen je tudi projekt »Varno s soncem«, v katerem sodeluje vrtec Mačkovci. V empiričnem delu so zajete ugotovitve, ki so zbrane s pomočjo anketnih vprašalnikov za starše predšolskih otrok. Iz raziskave smo želeli ugotoviti, ali starši v zadostni meri in na primeren način zaščitijo svoje otroke pred prekomernim izpostavljanjem soncu v poletnih dneh, in v kolikšni meri je to odvisno od izobrazbe staršev. Raziskava je bila izvedena v vrtcih OŠ Puconci, v enotah Mačkovci in Bodonci. Poleg tega smo želeli tudi ugotoviti, katerih ukrepov se starši poslužujejo pri zaščiti otrok pred UV-žarki. Ugotovili smo, da otroke starši premalo zaščitijo pred nevarnimi UV-žarki, da izobrazba ne vpliva na seznanjenost o nevarnosti UV-žarkov in da večino informacij o soncu dobijo starši preko medijev. Prav tako smo spoznali, da se starši premalo zavedajo, kako nevarno je sonce, in da lahko prekomerno izpostavljanje soncu privede do trajnih posledic, celo do kožnega raka.

Title:SAFE WITH THE SUN
Abstract:The diploma work consists of theoretical and empirical part. At the beginning of the thesis we described the sun, the ozone and the ozone hole. We presented the sunlight, its good and bad sides and the use of protective equipment. We also presented project “Safe in the sun” in which kindergarten Mačkovci participates. In the empirical part we presented findings, which were collected through questionnaires given to parents of preschool children. From the research we wanted to find out if parents protect their children against UV rays in the summer, how often they do it and what effect has their education on it. The research has been done in the kindergarten in school Puconci, the unit Mačkovci and the unit Bodonci. We also wanted to know which measures parent take to protect their children against the UV-rays. We found out that parents don’t protect their children enough against the dangerous UV rays, that education does not affect the awareness of the dangers of UV rays and that parents get the most information about the sun through the media. We also know that parents are insufficiently aware of how dangerous the sun is and that a long exposure to the sun can lead to irreversible consequences, even skin cancer.
