Abstract:Opisali smo zgradbo in delovanje jedra operacijskega sistema okna NT s poudarkom na V/I sistemu. Preučili smo vodilo PCI in naprave PCI.

Title:DEVICE DRIVER FOR PCI IN WINDOWS
Abstract:Firstly, structure and operation of a Windows NT kernel, with an emphasis on I/O system, has been described. We studied the PCI bus and PCI devices. A device driver for the target PCI device has been written in the WDM model. The device and the driver have been functionally tested, and then the driver has been verified using tools for verification of kernel drivers. Our driver successfully passed the verification process. Using a kernel profiler, a profile of our driver has been made. It turned out that the most time consuming routine was reading from I/O port, and that driver itself consumed about 0.26% of CPU kernel time. Finally, we used a kernel debugger to clean up the source code of our driver.
