Abstract:Diplomsko delo z naslovom Nega zob in ustne votline predšolskega otroka je sestavljeno iz dveh delov, teoretičnega in empiričnega dela. V teoretičnem delu smo predstavili ustno votlino, kjer smo zajeli razvoj zobovja, zgradbo zob, razporeditev zob in zobne skupine, obzobna tkiva, slino, jezik in zobne obloge. Namen raziskave je bil ugotoviti odnos otrok in staršev do ustne higiene in higiene zob, njihov odnos do zdrave prehrane in stopnjo preventivne zobozdravstvene osveščenosti staršev. Dobljene rezultate anonimnega anketnega vprašalnika smo prikazali s tabelami in grafi.

Title:TOOTH AND MOUTH CAVITY CARE OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN
Abstract:The diploma thesis entitled Tooth and mouth cavity care of preschool children consists of two parts: theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part introduces mouth cavity and its elements: development of teeth, their structure and arrangement, groups of teeth, dental tissues, saliva, tongue and dental plaques. We have found out that caries in Slovenia has been decreasing in the last couple of years. The thesis also presents taking care of teeth, especially the method of how to clean them, what means are used for cleaning, the importance of healthy food for a preschool child and good communication among preschool teachers, parents and dentists. The empirical part illustrates the results gained by the questionnaire. The parents of children from Vrtec Čebelica (Nursery Bee), Šentjernej, took part in the research. The purpose of the research is to find out the attitude children and their parents have towards mouth and teeth hygiene, their attitude towards healthy food and how these parents are aware of teeth prevention. The results are shown in graphs and tables. The descriptive non-experimental method of research has been used. The results show that the parents are satisfied with the work of a preschool teacher in connection with taking care of children's teeth (90,6 % of parents). A large number of preschool children eat healthy food. On the other hand there is a bit alarming fact that less than half of the parents help their children with cleaning, more then half of the parents help them only occasionally, some parents do not help them at all. Our finding is that there are still too many parents who do not pay enough attention to their children's dental care.
