S pomočjo analize medijskega trga, v kateri so zajete trenutne revije na slovenskem trgu, sem ugotovila pojavnost revij po kategorijah in s tem pomanjkljivost tržišča.

Title:PERIODICALS AND THEIR GRAPHIC IDENTITY
Abstract:Is there any free room left for a specialized magazine on the Slovenian market, which is currently filled up with all kinds of such magazines? Or do the readers need something new, something still missing in the market? The diploma thesis tends to provide answers to these two questions. Through theoretical and empirical research I acquired additional knowledge in the field of periodicals, photography, typography, and printing, and this resulted in the concept of a new magazine. The analysis of the Slovenian media market, which involved all journals present in the current market, provided data on the incidence of magazines by categories, and thus also on shortcomings. A notable shortcoming has been found in the field of animals, where the situation shows a neglected state. There are only a handful of magazines, which are dealing with this theme, while almost all other areas are covered by an enormous number of journals. In addition, the thesis includes an interview with Aleš Dragar, art-book editor at the daily newspaper Večer. His answers helped me to learn a lot about the job and the way of thinking of a magazine designer. The fact that the contents is the factor dictating the form inspired me in creating the concept of the new magazine. Thus, a new concept, a new magazine on animals – Animal, has been born. When designing it I considered knowledge gained within the theoretical part, results of the research and our own experiences gained as technical editors at the editorial office of Večer.
