Abstract:	Teoretično izhodišče. Mentorstvo v dejavnosti zdravstvene nege je ključnega pomena za usposabljanje študentov, ki pridejo iz predavalnic v klinično okolje. Mentorstvo je zahtevno delo in pomeni dodatne odgovornosti in obveznosti za medicinske sestre, zato je pomembna dobra organizacija, pripravljenost in vodeno mentorstvo. Namen. V diplomskem delu želimo raziskati in preučiti pomen mentorstva v zdravstveni negi. Metodologija raziskovanja. S pomočjo deskriptivne metode ter študija domače in tuje literature smo razjasnili pojem mentorstva in opisali vloge ter naloge mentorjev v kliničnem okolju. Raziskava je temeljila na kvantitativni metodologiji. Vzorec raziskave je zajemal 40 diplomiranih medicinskih sester/diplomiranih zdravstvenikov na oddelkih Klinike za kirurgijo in oddelkih Klinike za interno medicino Univerzitetnega kliničnega centra Maribor. Z anketnim vprašalnikom, ki je obsegal 19 vprašanj zaprtega in odprtega tipa, smo ugotavljali zadovoljstvo z načinom izvedbe kliničnih vaj med mentorji, potrebe po izobraževanju na področju mentorstva, način priprave na vlogo mentorja ter kako ocenjujejo vlogo mentorja in klinične vaje študentov. Rezultati. Rezultati so pokazali, da se večina mentorjev na mentorstvo pripravlja. Pripravljeni so se tudi izobraževati in izpopolnjevati za izvajanje kakovostnega mentorstva študentom na kliničnem usposabljanju. Ugotovili smo tudi, da je mentorstvo dodatno obremenjujoče delo, za katerega večina porabi 3 in več ur dnevno, zato si želijo razbremenitve drugih obveznosti. Zaključek. Izobraževanje študentov v praksi zdravstvene nege je odgovornost zdravstvene in izobraževalne inštitucije. Zagotovo pa lahko trdimo, da gre velika zasluga prav mentorjem v času kliničnega usposabljanja, njihovi prizadevnosti, motivaciji in strokovnem vodenju, ob katerih študenti Fakultete za zdravstvene vede pridobivajo dragocene izkušnje neposredno v kliničnem okolju.

Title:	Supervising in nursing care
Abstract:	Theoretical premise. In nursing care, mentoring is of key importance to the training of students who arrive in the clinical environment from lecture halls. Mentoring is demanding work, which entails additional responsibilities and obligations for nurses; hence the importance of good organisation, readiness and guided mentoring. Purpose. The diploma thesis researched and studied the importance of mentoring within nursing care. Research methodology. Using a descriptive method and research of domestic as well as foreign literature, we explained the term mentorship and described the roles and tasks of mentors in a clinical environment. Research was based on quantitative methodology. With the aid of a questionnaire that comprised 19 open and closed questions, 40 registered nurses/healthcare professionals at the surgical clinic and departments of internal medicine of University Medical Centre Maribor were surveyed. We were researching the level of satisfaction with the manner in which the clinical practice among mentors was performed, the need for education in the field of mentorship and the methods of preparing for the role of being a mentor. We were also interested in how they evaluate the role of a mentor and clinical practices of students. Results. Results have shown that most mentors prepare for mentoring; they are also willing to educate and perfect themselves in order to provide better quality mentoring at practical clinical courses. It has also been ascertained that mentoring presents an additional burden, for which most mentors use up 3 hours or more per day; consequently, they wish for their other obligations to be disburdened. Conclusion. In nursing care, teaching through practice is the responsibility of the healthcare and educational institution. Without a doubt, much credit belongs to the mentors at the practical clinical courses, their endeavour, motivation and professional guidance, which enable the students Faculty of Health Sciences to gain valuable experience directly in the clinical environment.
