Abstract:V teoretičnem delu disertacije so predstavljena obstoječa raziskovalna spoznanja, ki se navezujejo na obravnavano tematiko in predstavljajo osnovo razumevanja fenomena.

Title:Collaborative behaviour as a facilitator for integration of logistic and its complementary function: the case of Slovene retailers
Abstract:The theoretical part of doctoral thesis presents the existing research findings that refer to the topic and present the basis for understanding the phenomenon. Collaborative behaviour as a basis of this notion and various aspects of comparing collaboration with coordination and cooperation present the basis for more detailed assumptions concerning the importance of integrating logistic function with complementary functions and especially with the marketing function. In the last part of the theoretical part of doctoral thesis the findings are presented that the level of internal integration can influence the collaborative behaviour, the way in which this occurs or is expressed is the subject of the research part of the thesis. The quantitative research part of the thesis studies whether and to what extent collaborative behaviour influences the level of internal integration between logistic and marketing function and forms the basic part of this thesis. Furthermore, the research is conducted from the viewpoint of how understanding competences of implementing activities of employees in a complementary sector influences the level of internal integration. The research part of the thesis is based on a research that was conducted on the entire population of 33 Slovenian large companies, whose main activity is in retail, excluding motor vehicles. The data analysis was based on questionnaires and provided positive links for two hypotheses, whereas one could not be confirmed, as the level of collaborative behaviour had a positive and linear influence on the level of internal integration between the logistic and marketing function. Moreover, also positive was the link between the indicators of understanding, provided the employees from the marketing sector understood the competence of implementing activities or tasks of logisticians. In that case, the level of integration of these two functions was higher. The reverse link could not be confirmed, which means that if the employees from the logistic sector understood the competence of implementing activities in employees in a logistic function, the level of integration of these two function would not necessarily be higher, as these variables are not connected.
