Abstract:	V diplomskem delu so predstavljeni pojmi pozornost, spomin in različne tehnike pomnjenja. Našteti dejavniki so zelo pomembni v razvoju in učenju otroka in mladostnika. Namen diplomskega dela je ugotoviti kako učitelji izboljšujejo pozornost učencev, kateri dejavniki vplivajo nanjo, kako pogosto uporabljajo določene mnemotehnike ter uporabnost le teh. Zanimalo me je ali učitelji vedo kdaj se dejansko prične otrok namensko učiti in kdaj prične spomin slabeti, ter kako dovzetni so na počutje učencev. Spoznanje procesa učenja lahko privede do razvoja posameznikovih resničnih sposobnosti, tudi na tistih področjih za katera meni da so njegova »šibka področja«. Učitelji lahko veliko naredijo na tem področju. Ta ideja je bila glavno vodilo pri pisanju moje diplomske naloge. V diplomskem delu so predstavljene različne tehnike, s katerimi se učitelji poslužujejo za izboljšanje učenčeve pozornosti. Prav tako je opisana pomembnost dobrega počutja pri poučevanju, ter kdaj se pojavi zmožnost pomnjenja. Opisani so prvi zametki zmožnosti pomnjenja in kdaj ter zakaj prične spomn pri posamezniku slabeti. Raziskovanje je potekalo na priložnostnem vzorcu 48 učiteljev prve in druge triade petih različnih mariborskih šol. Podatki so bili zbrani s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika. Prikazani so tabelarično. Interpretacija rezultatov je oprta na izkušnje in na prevzeta dosedanja znanstvena spoznanja.

Title:	ATTENTION SPAN, MEMORY AND USAGE OF MEMORY MEMORIZATION LEARNING TECHNIQUES WHEN TEACHING
Abstract:	Summary In my diploma thesis, there are the following phenomena introduced: attention, memory and different memorization techniques. They play a crucial role in a child’s or youth’s development and at time when one is learning. The purpose of this diploma thesis is to find out how teachers improve pupils’ attention, which teachers use certain mnemonic devices and how often and whether these devices are useful at all. Then, I have been interested if teachers know when a pupil actually starts learning, if they are susceptible to pupils’ condition and when memory begins to fail. Once the process of learning has been familiarized with, individuals can start developing their true abilities even those that they consider as their weak ones. I believe that teachers can do a lot on this field. That idea has been my main theme when writing this diploma thesis. In my diploma thesis, there are different techniques presented. Teachers use them to improve a pupil’s attention. Then, there is importance of good feeling when teaching described. Moreover, the ability of memorization is also mentioned. And at the end, there are the first origins of ability to memorize interpreted and my thesis also discusses when and why one’s memory begins to fail. The research lies on a casual sample of forty-eight teachers teaching from the first to the sixth grades. The research has taken place in five different Maribor schools and has been carried out with the survey questionnaire. The results are shown with the help of tables and graphs. The absolute and percentage frequencies have been calculated. An x2 – test has been used in order to test dependent relations between variables. At the end, there is an interpretation of results, which relies on experiences and summarized up-to-date scientific data and conclusions.
