Abstract:
Pregled in analiza računalniških pogonov DVD razkrivata njihovo zgradbo in princip delovanja. Od vrste pogona DVD je odvisna uporaba ustreznih nosilcev, ki so natančno predstavljeni. Razlike med pogoni smo ugotovili s pomočjo testnega programa Nero CD-DVD Speed. Želje po večji kapaciteti podatkov na nosilcih so privedle do naslednje generacije pogonov DVD, in sicer pogonov Blu-Ray, ki berejo nosilce s kapaciteto 128 G zlogov.

AN OVERVIEW OF DVD DRIVES
Abstract:
The purpose of the presented overview and analysis of DVD drives is to show the structures and principles of how these drives work. The use of the appropriate data storage devices depends on the kind of the DVD drive. There is also an introduction to those data storage media. We used the Test-Version of Nero CD-DVD Speed to identify the differences between DVD drives. The constant and permanent wish to gain even more capacity of data storage devices leads to new generations of DVD drives: word is about Blu-Ray drives. The capacity of Blu-ray is up to remarkable 128 Gigabytes.
