Abstract:V teoretičnem delu diplomske naloge sta na podlagi strokovne literature opredeljena lutka in njen pomen za predšolskega otroka. V nadaljevanju so podrobno predstavljeni razvoj in načini razvijanja komunikacije z lutko v vrtcu.

Title:PUPPET AS MOTIVATIONAL TOOL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF VERBAL AND NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION
Abstract:In the theoretic part of my thesis the puppet and its significance for the pre-school child is determined on the basis of professional literature. What follows is a detailed presentation of the development and the ways of developing communication by using the puppet in the kindergarten. The practical part was aimed at developing verbal and non-verbal communication through different ways of communicating with the puppet and as a result having the final performance of the puppet show called Sonce gre na potep (the Sun goes for a stroll). Both the lesson plans for working with the puppet, with precisely set goals and the course of work as well as the evaluation are presented. Enclosed is photographic material that came into existence when these activities were going on in the kindergarten Križevci pri Ljutomeru in the age group 4-6. Another younger group of children aged 2-3 was included in the project as well. The project comprised ten lesson plans which included all educational areas of the curriculum. The preparation of the puppet show took two weeks. The children were really attentive and they took part in all activities which we prepared for them with great interest. We encouraged them, we considered their interests and abilities and directed and helped them realise their ideas, suggestions and desires. The project reached its purpose and on the grounds of different ways of communication with the puppet, we developed verbal and non-verbal communication in the group of pre-school children. The children were given an enjoyable experience while playing with the puppet, which as a motivational means contributes to the implementation of the educational work.
