Abstract:	Javni sektor je pomemben del sodobne družbe, saj nam nudi vrsto storitev, ki so v vsakdanjem življenju nujno potrebne. Pomembno je, da imamo dobro usposobljen delovni kader, ki nam omogoča, da so storitve opravljeno hitro in hkrati kvalitetno. Nujno potrebno je, da javni sektor dobro sodeluje tudi z zasebnim sektorjem, saj lahko le na podlagi dobre komunikacije nastane javno-zasebno partnerstvo. Javno-zasebno partnerstvo postaja v današnjem času ključnega pomena pri izvedbi določenega projekta. Sodelovanje med obema sektorjema prinaša mnogo koristi, prinaša pa tudi slabosti, ki jih lahko uspešno odpravimo, če jih pravočasno odkrijemo. Največji prednosti javnega sektorja sta financiranje ter znanje, ki jih oba izvajalca pridobita tekom izvedbe projekta. V delu diplomskega seminarja je opisan javni sektor in javno-zasebno partnerstvo na Portugalskem. Portugalska je pri izvajanju javno-zasebnih partnerstev dokaj mlada država, a ima za seboj nekaj zelo uspešnih projektov, ki so omembe vredni.

Title:	PUBLIC SECTOR AND PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP IN PORTUGAL
Abstract:	Public sector is an important part of modern society. It offers many kinds of services which are indispensable for everyday life. It is crucial to have qualified staff which enables us to provide the services rapidly and, at the same time, with a high-quality performance. Public sector also needs to co-operate with the private sector, because public-private partnership can be established only on the basis of good communication. Public-private partnership is, nowadays, becoming of key importance in the implementation of a certain project. Co-operation between both sectors can bring many benefits. It also brings weaknesses which can be successfully eliminated, if they are discovered in due time. The most important benefits of the public sector are financing and knowledge. Both contractors acquire these two benefits during the implementation of the project. The diploma seminar presents the public sector and public-private partnership in Portugal. Portugal in quite new in implementing public-private partnerships, but has implemented some very successful projects that are worth mentioning.
