V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela smo opisali najpogostejša ginekološka maligna obolenja, kako le ta vplivajo na fizično in zlasti psihično počutje pacientk in kako jim nuditi psihično podporo.

Title:PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT OF WOMEN PATIENTS WITH MALIGNANT GYNECOLOGICAL DISEASE
Abstract:For a great majority of patients, a successful operation of a malign gynaecological illness does not mean the end of the treatment as it is often followed by chemotherapy and/or ray therapy which affect the victim physically as well as psychically. They successfully undergo the post-operational therapy in case they have shared the support of the medical staff, the family members and their wider environment since the very beginning of the treatment. In the diploma task we have presented psychic disorders that the patints are confronted with in the period of uncertainty during which the diagnosis of malign gynaecological illness was being confirmed. In the theoretical part of the diploma task we have dealt with the most frequent malign gynaecological illnesses and how these affect the patients' physical and especially psychic state of health and moreover, we have focused on how to offer them psychic support. From the empirical point of view, including an anonymous opinion questionnaire, which was being performed from April to June – 2010 on the day of dismissal from hospital into home care, among 68 patients that underwent the opration in the Celje hospital because of malign gynaecological illness, we have found out that the majority of patients, acqainted with the cancer diagnosis, felt fear while some of them felt sadness and anger. A high percentage of the patients inquired searched out the cause of illness within their own nature. A quarter of them did not understand their diagnosis and did not need further information. The participants of the questionnaire also thought about their future and were worried as they could not imagine how to continue to live normally after the treatment and wondered how they would be accepted by the partner and the environment. Fear of pain also arises. A proper communication and honest relationship, full of empathy and confidence between nurses and patients, can solve many a problem, remove fear, calm patients and help to recover faster. Furthermore, it improves the state of health during the patient's treatment.
