Abstract:

Title:
FLOW FIELD BASED INFLUENCE ANALYSIS OF CONCENTRATION DECREASE IN LAB DIGESTORIUM
Abstract:
Digestorium is a central processing device for safety insurance in the lab. In the Krka d.d. company shelves were installed into working spaces of several devices. It is more convenient, since they are used for chemical storage. Modified working space has a different efficiency at the removal of toxic gasses as the original one. With the help of Computational Fluid Dynamics I simulated events which take place in the modified and original working space. The bigger the inflow gets, the better is the removal of toxic gasses. With a closed inflow window, the concentration of toxic gasses drops faster with installed shelves. If we open the inflow window, the concentration drops faster at original working space. Regarding the high frequency of interventions into the working space during chemical experiments, shelves should be removed to ensure a better safety.
