Metodologija in metode dela.

Title:Proper handling with newborn - handling method
Abstract:This senior research project deals with premature birth, causes of premature birth, difficulties the preterm infant and his parents might encounter, proper newborn handling methods and the importance of physical contact thereof. Methodology and research methods. The research was performed in Slovenia at the Adolf Drolc health center and in Croatia at Dr. Nadica Fatiga-Brodar’s private medicine practice. Research population in each country was 50 parents and the research subject was proper newborn handling methods. Results. The results have confirmed my assumption that parents in Slovenia are better acquainted with methods of proper newborn handling than parents in Croatia. Furthermore, familiarity with proper baby handling methods grew as age, as well as education, of examinees grew. Conclusion. It is extremely important to handle premature newborns properly since it conveys signals to newborn’s brain teaching him/her how to properly live on his/her own. Proper handling is not only recommended for premature newborns but for all. It is important that all parents are acquainted with proper nursing methods, meaning they should know how to properly lift, put down, carry, pamper, feed and play with their babies.
